Since March 2017, cannabis flowers, cannabis extracts and other cannabinoid-containing medicinal products have been eligible for statutory health insurance under certain conditions. But what is the state of science? What is the evidence? What role do cannabis-based drugs play in medicine and how are they used? Where and how do cannabinoids work? What are the legal bases and what requirements must be observed in relation to regulations?

The course deals with all questions relating to the use and prescription of cannabis-based drugs. A comprehensive overview of the state of research, physiology and mode of action as well as biochemistry and pharmacology combined with the requirements that must be observed when prescribing this narcotic.

The process follows the blended learning concept. Self-study precedes the teaching and group work session. In this way, the phases of online self-study and online group work are dovetailed with the competence acquisition of the face-to-face phases in order to use them intensively for deepening, application, transfer or presentation.
